We recently just got asked by Girls Fight Back founder, Erin Weed, to play the 7th Annual GFB for Shannon McNamara on Friday March 7th at Sluggers bar in the heart of Wrigleyville in Chicago. We are excited and honored to play this event.
This annual event is held in memory of our good friend Shannon McNamara, who was a 21-year-old college student murdered at Eastern Illinois University in 2001. Shortly after this tragedy, Shannon's college friend (Erin Weed) formed an organization called Girls Fight Back. GFB educates young women about personal safety and self-defense through live seminars, books and the educational website www.girlsfightback.org. Every March since Shannon's murder, hundreds of people attend this fundraiser to raise money for violence prevention programs in Chicago's high schools in hopes of preventing more tragedies. This year will be performing all night and hope you come out and celebrate the life of our good friend.
WHAT: 7th Annual Girls Fight Back for ShanMac Fundraiser
WHEN: Friday, March 7th 2008 from 8 pm – 12 midnight
WHERE: Slugger’s Bar - 3450 N Clark St, Chicago, IL 60657
COST: $30 per person for open bar

I'm writing this a couple of hours before what some say could be the worst snow storm in Chicago in 9 years!!! So I thought I would say a few words...
1. Have you checked our tour page yet and made plans to come see us rock?
2. Do you have salt to put on your driveway and sidewalk for the morning?
3. Have you seen Heidi Montag's new video for her song Higher? If not, click here and see it on youtube.
4. Do you watch The Wire on HBO? If not START! Best show on cable by far. Go rent season 1,2 & 3. Then watch season 4 on "on-demand." Season 5 just started and it's righteous.
I recently just went to New York and I posted the pictures. I saw Paul Pierce walking into Saks 5th Ave. with his gf and our savior Brian Griese at O'hare. We are in the process of booking our World Tour and if you know of a club or establishment you think we would rock at please let us know.
We're going to start updating our news section with more hot and juicy gossip. And each band member will be sharing their stories and current events. Till next time and as always INCREASE THE PEACE.

Wow, almost a year and half since we updated our news section but we are going to try to do a better job of updating this section. 2008 is set to be the year of the CSM. We are finally working on our follow up original album and shooting to go back to the studio in March and make history. Stay tuned for details and we will be highlighting the new tunes at all of our upcoming shows. Looking forward to seeing you soon.

Check out our new improved website. We
had our site designed by our friend Pat Colalillo
and it's going to take me a couple of days to get
use to updating this highly sophisticated design
he made for us but we are very excited on the facelift.
Make sure you play the "CSM Drum Kit"
on the home page.
We've been keeping busy playings shows, getting
engaged, playing shows and working at our 9-5 jobbie
jobs. Also we have been adding new original and
cover songs to our performances so we think you
should come on out to take a listen. We strongly
believe you're going to like it.
See you soon and take care. CSM

It’s a busy, lonely life on the road….
In fact on the road to Montgomery yesterday, I was just thinking about my own mortality. And also where I could get 5 Arby’s sandwiches for $5.95.
Congratulations to Jay and Karrie Racutt! They had a boy, Max, and everyone is healthy and doing fine. We are really excited to welcome Max into our rock n roll family and wish Karrie and Jay the best in the days to come.
The CSM is coming to a venue near you, so come see us if you haven’t recently. These days, we’ve got new originals, new covers and new dance moves to show off. Tim’s dance moves especially got sexier if you can believe that is even possible. Check the tour page to see if we will be in your neck of the woods.
One thing we would like to highlight is the Peggy Kinanne’s show on October 29th. This is a benefit show for the Shannon McNamara Scholarship…a $5 cover at the door will go towards the fund. Come out and join us for a great cause!
Also, please sign our guestbook with song requests, thoughts, Bible passages, complaints, winning lottery ticket numbers, previous setlists from Nickelback shows, or general malaise. Hell, start a forum about politics for all I care. We want to hear from you guys.

Technically, there should be a lot of news since we haven’t had the time to update in a while. And there is.
First off, thanks to everyone for everything. Like coming to shows, listening to our CD, plugging us to your friends and being there for us when we need to complain about our day jobs, gambling losses, and old man hangovers.
Secondly, we would like to invite you to shows. Please come to all of them, but if you can’t make all of them, just come to the one closest to you. Please see the tour page for the venue closest to your place.
Lastly, we are currently in the process of writing some new original music and we’ve been really pleased with it. We are playing these tunes at shows and they are just babies, so come by and check out what we’ve been working on. Tell us what you like and don’t like about them. Three current new tracks are tentatively titled “Hold,” “Addidygupta” and “Mona Lisa.”
And finally, as a postscript to all of this news, CSM’s own Waynehayne is still looking for work so if you have an open position for a secretary and would like to boss him around, feel free to hire him. But if not, at least stop by and challenge him at Madden ’06 or play a couple rounds of Hold ‘Em with him, that’s how he makes his money these days.

Fans Spotted Wearing C.S.M. Gear
Meet Melanie Aronson and CSM fan since 2000. Melanie is shown here wearing her red "Vulture of Love" t-shirt while she was vacationing in Cancun. The red shirt definitely brings out her tan. Some of Melanie's favorite CSM hits they play are Lust, Gypsy Queen and Rhythm of the Wheel. Melanie prefers Justin over Usher...

We’re all sitting at our desks staring out the window thinking to ourselves, “it is warm and sunny outside, what the hell am I doing in this cage?” AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!
That means that you should come out to see the CSM play shows, wear less clothes, and sit in beer gardens on Tuesday nights until 1:30 even though you have to get up for work at 6 am. That also means that festival time is here and you can go out and have as many beers as possible and then try to mingle and have intelligent conversations with the opposite sex.
Here’s what’s cooking in the spicy, steamy CSM kitchen:
Many new live shows, so of course check the tour page for those, but most noteworthy are the April shows on Friday the 8th at the Colloseum in Mokena (I don’t know where that is) and April 23rd at Cubby Bear North with our friend Dave Tamkin opening up. Also, there are more shows scheduled, so as always check back often for that and to look for Rob Pomazak’s hidden nude pix on the site.
Also, we would like to congratulate Jay and Karrie Racutt on baby makin’. They are expecting their first child at the end of the year. Congrats Jay with the new baby on the way, say goodbye to sleeping in and your social life!!!
2/6/05
Well it’s now February 2005 and life barrels on…Good things on the horizon for the CSM, we are looking forward to playing at different places. On the schedule it looks like we’ll be stopping by The Chicago Auto Show @ McCormick Place, Penny Road Pub in Barrington, Marty’s at Eastern Illinois University, Martyrs' in Chicago and Goose Island Wrigley for starters. Some come out and see us as always, you guys are great and we always manage to have a good time!
Everyone should make the Eastern Trip this year, it’s a great time and a nice get away. It’s like a mini spring break without the beach, nice weather or tropical drinks. It’s a nice reminder of how much college rules and how bad the real world sucks. Get your room at the Varsity Inn, let’s fill that place up! The number there is 217-348-8882, reserve your room today!!!
Thanks to all who came out and especially those who rode the bus to Bourbon Street. Next time the band rides on the bus, gets completely hammered, then goes on stage without any pants on. You’d like that, wouldn’t you ladies? Well you have to wait until 2006 for the band calendar, there are a few of us that need to drop a couple of pounds.

C.S.M. on EIU's Radio Station/Awarestore.com
Do you have any plans this Sunday from 10pm-Midnight??? I'm sure you don't, but you can now hear tracks off our album in rotation on Eastern Illinois University's HIT MIX 88.9FM show Illinoise every Sunday. Currently tracks "Melody," "Lobsterbush," and "Remember" are in the station's system and we would appreciate you calling in and requesting them to play our tunes!!! You can stream their station via their website, http://www.weiuhitmix.net, and request our songs by calling (217) 581-6116.
We’ve gotten a lot of requests to purchase our cd online from those of you not from the Chicago-land area and we’re happy to announce that we recently got accepted by awarestore.com to sell our album via their site. They’re a CD store that houses primarily independent and developing artists across the nation. In the next week or two we'll have our own page on their site where you can purchase our album and eventually our merchandise (t-shirts and etc…)
C.S.M.’s Holiday Wishlist
Hey, what do you know, December is here. The holidays always jump up and bite you in the ass, don’t they? One day you are out by the pool, iced frappicino in hand then next thing you know it’s December 24 and you haven’t started Christmas shopping.
What the CSM wants for Christmas is you. We want you to buy our new CD (now available at shows and soon to be on www.awarestore.com). It makes a great stocking stuffer and is a guaranteed New Year’s party hit. We want you to come to our show this Saturday, December 18th for the rockingest (is that a word?) Christmas party ever. The Merrill Brothers will be opening and playing some acoustic numbers, and there quite possibly might be an appearance from the bastard English rockers CasSette Megastore.
So, happy holidays to all. Buy “Kings of Our Little World.” Stop by for our shows. Drink egg nog. Party with us. Be our friends. And stay tuned for the 2005 schedule as the CSM Express rolls on.

The day is rapidly approaching…the day you can own a copy of the CSM’s new release “Kings of Our Little World.” With an eclectic and unique mix of music, catchy hooks and lyrics you can sing along to, the new album is surely something you will want for your commute to work, designated driving or just to crank on your system during a warm summer day.
When can you get this CD? Well, come join us for some rocking/partying/carrying on at Durty Nellies on Friday, November 12, where we will be headlining the show and selling the CD for the first time! And the first 20 people to buy a CD will get a free “Vulture of Love” t-shirt. The “New” Durty Nellies is an awesome venue with a huge stage if you’ve never been, a great place to grab a bite then party and listen to live tunes.
So come one come all to Durty Nellies and pick up a copy of CSM’s “Kings of Our Little World” then get ready to party because we’ll be playing until they kick us off the stage.

"Kings of our Little World"
We (C.S.M.) have just finished our first full-length cd titled “Kings of our Little World.” The album highlights 10 original songs and look for a cd release party to be thrown in December or January 05’. We can’t wait for you all to hear and purchase it! Come to a show and get a sampler of the album.
We’ve also just added a couple new Chicago shows, Cubby Bear Wrigley on Saturday Oct. 29th and the Friday after Thanksgiving at Hog Head McDunnas on Nov. 26th. We like playing music and we think you guys enjoy listening to music, so we are playing more music at various places. Also, join us for our Harry’s show on September the 25th with that band CasSette Megastore with bad British accents opening. Dig?
As for updates on band individuals:
-Tim is currently working on a solo project in which he goes around to different area carnivals and beats little children at the games to win prizes. He also has been eating 2 burritos on his late night adventures, one pre-late night bar, one post-late night bar.
-JP has moved in with mom and dad, where rent and food costs nothing. He can eat 3 sausages in no time at all, and is currently in a yoga class. He plays CSM unplugged shows, which are very inspiring to watch. You should go to these shows, crazy reader.
-Steven M. Brock is currently drinking Jim Beam. It’s been reported that a young cardboard cutout of Brock is a womanizing woman all over the Chicago-land area.
-Studio Jay is working on a project with Outkast, the Roots and the Black Eyed Peas.
-Rob Ali is on permanent spring break. He is popular with the ladies and is slated for a Playgirl spot in early 2005.
-Brad is writing a collection of poems entitled “Snowflakes and Raisin Bran”
-Heather is working on her own project to be released in December. It’s a collection of tasteful nude pictures for an untitled coffee table book.

CSM Update
For those of you who missed Carneypallooza, better known as Ashcott Fest, or even better known as Jay’s Block Party, you missed an awesome display of eating/drinking. Check out e pictures!
Come out this Friday to see the CSM rock the Cubby Bear Wrigley! Print out a $2 off coupon and you can save $2 on your admission. Some of the $2 off coupons are going at higher values than others, so pick wisely. There’s a home Cubs game that day and it’s definitely going to be a party from the moment Steven M. Brock belts out, “ARE YOU READY TO BROCK!” straight through the evening and possibly on to the wee hours of the morning (that’s a heads up to Kingston Mines). Get there early, we go on around 10 o’clock and we’re opening for The Leonard Brothers.
Other goings on:
-putting the finishing touches on the studio album which remains untitled, but it’s nearing completion
-a bunch of CSM Unplugged shows all over the suburbs, so if you can make it out, we buy drinks
-new Harry’s of Arlington shows are on the schedule for September and December
-rolling through Lamplighters again in October and this time the decibels will be perfect
-dress up like an idiot and come join the CSM at the Slice of Chicago on Halloween
This truly is the Summer of Love.

Rock and Roll Weekend
CSM at Lamplighters Saturday, June 19th
The CSM’s Northwestern Suburban tour continues with Lamplighter’s in Palatine on Saturday, June 19th. And finally, YOU DON’T HAVE TO PAY COVER! That’s cool but what’s even cooler is they have the biggest urinal ever. If that’s not an excuse to party I don’t know what is. Everyone is fan of the week! Come on out and join us for fun and games.
CSM at West Loop Art Market Sunday, June 20th
Bring your dad with you to come see the CSM this father’s day at the West Loop Art Market in Chicago, Sunday, June 20th from 4:30 to 6:30 pm. It’s located near the Taste of Randolph festival and is sure to be a good time. For more info about the market you can check out their website at www.westloopartmarket.com.

CasSette Megastore
After playing with this band on Saturday at Harry’s, we think we have found an opening act that we enjoy. CasSette Megastore took the stage and warmed up the crowd quite nicely. The special appearances were great! Hopefully, we can get them to open for us again and they’ll play some more hits. Who knows, you could be next in line to play with the CasSette Megastore.

CSM @ Harry’s of Arlington w/Special Guests – Farewell Dan Mule
Ha Ha Ha, WE’RE BACK! 60005’s local watering hole, ARE YOU READY TO ROCK? That’s right, this Memorial Day weekend, May 29th, the CSM will play at Harry’s of Arlington Heights. This is also Dan Mule’s farewell party…he is off to Miami, FL because he saw a Will Smith "Miami" video and he wanted to be like him. Bienvenido a miami Dan! So bring your friends, your girlfriend, your boyfriend, your mom, your dad, your brothers, sisters, grandma, grandpa and head on downtown to A.H. for some live music and plenty of libations (you only have a short stumble home).
And this time we’re welcoming some special guests. For those of you who saw Mike Aldworth perform the first time, and were even luckier to see him perform a second time, you might catch him a third time. In addition, we are happy to have a great opening band on board, CasSetteMegastore. Well known in Europe and the Eastern United States, this band consists of scattered members of the CSM as you know it, plus a few surprise guests from the past and maybe some future rockers. We’re looking forward to blowing the roof off the place, so come join us and let the good times roll

CSM Returns to the Studio
By now, everyone has probably heard a copy of the CSM demo completed in December of 2003. Well, we’re going back into the studio record the first full length CSM album starting June 12 at Solid Sound Studio in Hoffman Estates.
Last time we went into the studio, we were saying “Gee golly, I can’t believe we’re here.” 1,000 pictures, a couple of “Yo Dre just let it run” jokes and an hour of footage later (including the recording reel running for a good 2 minutes), we came out with a decent product for the time allotted. And we were happy. But this time, it’s business. Oh, and maybe a little bit of fun.
On the new CD, you will be able to find the songs from the demo plus new CSM material, including Gypsy Queen, Remember and Lust to mention a few. The projected release date is the end of summer, so of course we’ll be looking to throw quite a party. Logistics will arise as we go along, so we’ll keep you informed. As always, thanks for your continued support.
